VINITALY – Diario di una giornata OCCCA

Non saremo qui a farvi l’elenco di quanti metri quadrati di spazio espositivo ricopre Vinitaly, o quanti espositori c’erano quest’anno.
Per quello ci sono tanti siti che sapranno soddisfare ogni vostra curiosità.
Vogliamo invece raccontarvi cosa è stato il Vinitaly per OCCCA.
Arrivati alla stazione di Verona alle 8,30 la prima cosa che abbiamo fatto io (Marco Natali) e Alfonso Amarante (l’illustrissimo illustratore di OCCCA!) siamo andati alla ricerca di Fabio Tammaro, noto chef di Verona nonchè collaboratore della pagina.
Ovviamente avendo un ristorante a Verona nel cuore del più grande evento della città, siamo riusciti solo a prenderè un caffè che è durato meno dei saluti. Era lunedì ma aveva tutta la linea da rifare e i frigoriferi da riempire, per il ristorante di nuovo pieno in serata.
Da questo abbiamo capito che il Vinitaly è dentro e fuori la fiera.
Tornati alla stazione abbiamo scoperto che c’erano le navette (gratuite) che continuamente partivano per la destinazione alla quale siamo arrivati in meno di 15 minuti.
Avevamo i voucher già stampati e dopo aver affrontato il primo impatto di centinaia (forse un migliaio) di persone di fronte all’entrata, un addetto ci ha fatto sapere che in fondo a sinistra avremmo trovato l’ingresso per chi come noi aveva pronto il biglietto. Una volta raggiunto quell’area, abbiamo trovato una discreta coda ad attenderci. In realtà nel giro di 5, forse 10 minuti al massimo, eravamo già dentro la fiera.
Dentro poco dopo ci ha raggiunto Enrico Cesaro, collega conosciuto tramite OCCCA che, veterano dell’evento, ci ha consigliato innanzitutto un mini tour presso gli stand dell’olio, sia perchè interessanti, ma soprattutto utili: olio e bruschette infatti avrebbero introdotto meglio gli “assaggi enologici” che ci avrebbero accompagnato per l’intera mattinata!
Comincia così il nostro percorso, fatto non solo di vino ma anche di vermouth, amari, e perfino vodka nello stand dove ci attendeva Valentina Zaottini, ambassador di una nota azienda il cui distillato abbiamo avuto il piacere di assaggiarlo in un paio di cocktail…prima di mezzogiorno.
C’è da dire che se non siete abituati a camminare lentamente e ininterrottamente per 8 ore, degustando di tanto in tanto piccoli sorsi di vini di tutta la penisola italiana, accompagnati a volte da sorsi ben più lunghi di un assaggio, offerti da vecchi colleghi o aziende vinicole con le quali avete collaborato, potreste rischiare di vivere una giornata al Vinitaly più come un tour de force che un momento di piacere.
Ma considerando che chi vi scrive per lavoro cammina da più di 10 anni, almeno 8 ore al giorno, sorseggiando qualcosa di volta in volta, capite bene che togliendo comande e cucina da questo tram tram, il piacere è stato assicurato!
Se poi ci metti l’assurdità delle continue chiamate e messaggi con gli amici di OCCCA con i quali per tutto il giorno abbiamo cercato di trovare un punto di incontro il dolore ai piedi a fine giornata era compensato da abbondanti risate:

“Io sto in Piemonte!”
“Io sto in Sicilia in questo momento!”
“Vediamoci tra la Toscana e le Marche allora”
L’Italia al Vinitaly la attraversi in pochi minuti.

Abbiamo letto nei giorni a seguire lamentele di vario genere:
– pochi parcheggi
– difficoltà con le code e le file all’ingresso
– giovani alcoolizzati in giro per la fiera
– scarsa qualità della rete (in effetti era molto difficile connettersi, in particolare all’interno dei padiglioni)
Onestamente noi non abbiamo incontrato queste difficoltà (a parte riuscire a usare il cellulare) ma anzi oltre all’efficienza per quanto riguarda il trasporto in navetta, ci ha fatto piacere trovare aspetti positivi in piccoli dettagli come i servizi ancora impeccabili a fine giornata (con addetto delle pulizie onnipresente).
Viene da se che in una città come Verona, che conta poco più di 200 mila abitanti, se dovesse accogliere gli oltre 100mila visitatori tutti automuniti, sarebbe una tragedia per il parcheggio per tutti. Anche noi siamo partiti con l’auto ma abbiamo opportunatamente ragionato una destinazione intermedia che ci permettesse agevolmente di raggiungere in treno la città.
L’organizzazione da questo punto di vista necessita di altrettanta organizzazione da parte di chi usufruisce dell’evento.
In fiere grandi come queste bisogna andarci con idee molto chiare e mirate, come nel caso di Antonio Gianico, sommelier e follower di OCCCA che ci diceva essere intenzionato a valutare non più di 4 o 5 vitigni per poi eventualmente, se gli restava tempo, visitare il resto della fiera.
Noi dal canto nostro eravamo pronti e armati di metri di fascia gialla, velcro autoadesivo e forbici, per fabbricare lo strumento rivoluzionario dell’OCCCADAY a chiunque lo avesse richiesto. La risposta non si è fatta attendere ed ha dimostrato ancora una volta che LA rivoluzione è DONNA!
Se poi si ha anche l’occasione di parlare tranquillamente con professionisti del settore (in questo caso il mondo della miscelazione) come Leonardo Leuci nemmeno fossi al bar sottocasa, oppure incontrare colleghi conosciuti sui social, sparsi per tutta la penisola nel giro di poche ore, il risultato che ti porti a casa è quella di una giornata per cui è valsa la pena farsi 500 km di macchina, e spendere 80 euro a biglietto.
Se poi il biglietto te lo regalano dei colleghi perchè sei admin e illustratore di OCCCA allora ne è valsa ancora di più la pena! 😉
